George Ackerson
CEO and CoFounder

George Ackerson is currently CEO and CoFounder of BarterSaves, a New Jersey based barter exchange that enables local business owners to trade what they have for the things they need. Prior to BarterSaves, George spent the last 20 professional working years within technology, mobility, applications, sales and business development. George was the CEO and CoFounder of MyMBPP, a mobile app and platform for bill presentment and payment which allowed companies to pay invoices and facilitate various customer relationship management functions. George has also held various senior sales and management positions with companies in the technology space such as BlackBerry, NTENT, KiwiTech, OSG and others. George has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland University College.

René Ackerson
President and CoFounder

René Ackerson is currently President and CoFounder of the BarterSaves Trade Exchange, the area's preferred barter club. She is passionate about helping local business owners grow their cash and barter business with new customers. Her experience in corporate America and her past entrepreneurship was essential for her to gain the knowledge and experience to successfully grow BarterSaves. Prior to BarterSaves, from 2011-2015, René founded Creative Media Solutions (a media agency) and Neighborhood Money Saver Magazine. For over 20 years René has worked for various media companies in both digital and print advertising solutions. She has served local businesses by holding sales and management positions in companies such as Gannett, Yahoo (formerly Hotjobs.com) and DexYP (formerly Super Media). René Ackerson has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida.

Kevin Brown
VP, Media, Advertising and Strategic Partnerships

Kevin Brown spent the first 25 years of his career working with corporations and advertisters to help them build their brands and grow their sales. After 10 years as a Media Buying Director for several Madison Avenue agencies, Brown spent years in Sales Management with ABC, CBS and Fox News Channel. Kevin brings a wealth of advertising, marketing and promotional experience to his role. Since business owners often want to trade their service to build up their marketing presence and share-of-voice, Brown acts as consultant to either find them a great marketing services company to partner with or directly handles their media strategy and execution in online, out-of-home, print and all other forms of media. In his spare time, Kevin coaches youth basketball in their home town of Tarrytown. He is a passionate fisherman and sports fan and loves to play pickleball.

Lisa Britt
Senior Account Manager

Lisa Britt is currently Senior Account Manager at the BarterSaves Trade Exchange. She is an accomplished Sales and Marketing Professional with over 25 years of proven expertise in generating new revenue streams and long-term partnerships within the local Central Jersey marketplace. Prior to BarterSaves, Lisa worked closely with a diverse client base including many of the area's leading businesses providing full marketing and sales strategy support while representing leading media companies such as Gannett NJ and Living In Media & Marketing. She has also provided media research and sales support to a variety of leading national publications including U.S. News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly, Time Magazine Group, Meredith, Forbes & Newsweek. Lisa has a Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

Andrew Effross
Director of Sales Activity

My name is Andrew Effross and I grew up in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I graduated with a Business Economics Degree from Bloomsburg University. I have now been in the "bartering business" for over 17 years and I just love it. The best part about what I do is, I truly love to help people and customer satisfaction is my number one priority.

Lillian Poplin
Senior Account Manager

Lillian is Senior Account Manager with BarterSaves, with over 26 years of experience with Barter Systems, Inc. Prior to joining BarterSystems in 1995, Lillian worked in positions involving juggling numerous tasks and responsibilities at the same time, which helped prepare her for being a barter broker. Her degree in Business/Management led to work in government audits, procurement, cost analysis, and proposals; tasks which kept her living out of a suitcase and traveling constantly. Since landing at BarterSaves, she has enjoyed the opportunity to spend more time at home, as well as with friends and family.

Vera Solowej
Senior Account Manager

Vera Solowej is a Senior Account Manager with BarterSaves, with 20 years combined experience in sales, marketing, and project coordination. She is a dedicated professional known for building strong client relationships and navigating complex challenges to deliver tailored solutions that align with client goals. Vera is driven by a passion for creative problem-solving and a commitment to delivering tangible results while transforming challenges into opportunities in the dynamic world of barter sales.

Bill Ellsworth
Regional Sales Director

For over three decades, I have dedicated my career to the restaurant industry, owning and operating a highly successful franchise restaurant for 26 years, following a six-year tenure with the franchise. My leadership and commitment have not only sustained but thrived within the competitive market.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I have been happily married for 29 years and am the proud parent of four accomplished children and four delightful grandchildren. My passion for football, particularly as a dedicated fan of the Washington Redskins (Commanders), and my love for family activities, define my personal life. Balancing a thriving career and a fulfilling family life is a testament to my resilience, dedication, and passion.

Joe Ackerson
Account Manager

Joe Ackerson is an Account Executive with BarterSaves as well as an assistant to the CEO. Joe has 8 years experience of leveraging barter to save cash and now specializes in helping restaurants and other local business owners to help save them cash, get an additional revenue stream and new customers with barter.

Julie Williams
Office Manager

Julie started her career as a social media intern at BarterSaves and has been promoted to office manager where she assists the owners and the BarterSaves staff with administrative duties. Julie has been enhancing her lifestyle with barter for over a decade and has used barter for braces, oil changes, college counseling, hair services, restaurants, chiropractic, dental, travel and much more on trade.

BREE Williams
ACCOUNT MANAGER

Bree has been working to help BarterSaves in various areas for a couple of years, and currently supports the BarterSaves clients and account managers with daily sales admin duties, which have a focus on targeted sales and marketing campaigns. Bree has been using barter to enhance her lifestyle for nearly a decade now; using barter for dental work, car repairs, hair services, restaurants, travel, and so much more through trade.
